Dillon was kept from Becca's first litter with Ed Lynn Jarratt's Russ.  I knew he was going to be something special from the day of his birth.  Thanks to Russ' genetic influence, Dillon is a gorgeous seal and white ES.  Dillon is my enforcer of the ES pack, but not top dog.  He is extremely lovable, athletic, biddable, and sometimes plays the clown of the group.  He is involved in agility classes and competed for the first time  October 15-16, 2005.  For more details, check him out on the Agility Trial page which tracks his progress in UKC agility.

Dillon is the only ES that I own that will smile at those he truly loves.  He continues to mature and at the age of 2 is a delight to all who know him.  Mr. Jarratt says that he is the spitting image of Russ, who died in March 2005.  Click here to see more of Ed Lynn Jarratt's boys.

August 2009 - Dillon continues to be my "heart" dog & I still haven't been able to capture his smile on camera.  He is truly a joy to be around.  He has an innate capability to "know" what is right and wrong.  He serves as the dog police, correcting others when they are not behaving appropriately.  We are currently on a hiatus from active agility competition while I am serving as trial secretary.  He received his UACHX in September of 2008!  We still attend class and train.  He would miss his friends if we didn't!  The puppies he has produced have been extremely nice in charm and build.  I haven't heard that any of them smile like he does, but Dillon has quite a few 1/2 siblings that do.  Looking forward to some future match-ups to help continue the Jarratt line.  Ed Lynn Jarratt passed away very unexpectedly in March of 2008.  His boys were all rehomed, where they are loved and appreciated.

September 2016 - It has been a long time since I updated Dillon's webpage, but hopefully everything is up to date now.  Dillon continues to prove himself as my heart dog of all times.  Bela died earlier this year & I kept expecting Dillon to move into Bela's sleeping spot on the floor between my side of the bed & the wall.  I guess he decided to take some time to allow me to recover from Bela's passing.  Dillon started sleeping there just a few weeks ago, so I have a special boy beside me again. 

While he is no longer participating in agility trials, Dillon still loves to go to "his" class to visit with our trainer.  Some days I will put him over a few low jumps, but mostly we do the contact obstacles.  He is always waiting for his turn to go into the ring.  I can tell that his hearing isn't quite as sharp as it once was, but he still moves nicely & is enjoying the couple of cooler days we had recently.  Looking forward to fall temperatures so he and the rest of the dogs won't be quite so hot!

November 2018 - On Jul 13, 2018, we said our goodbyes to Dillon. I haven't been able to post much about this and even four months later, I am finding the pain of letting him go to still be very fresh in my heart. Up until May, Dillon had been doing very well for an older dog. In May, he began having some serious issues with mobility. Upon examination by our vet, she did not feel that it was Dillon's time yet, so we treated him with some medications and bought a harness to help him navigate the stairs or walking on slicker surfaces. Dillon was a trooper during his final two months. He managed to regain his balance to where he could walk for short distances. He was happiest when he was near his loved ones. His love of life and family was evident up until the end.

I remember Ed Lynn Jarratt talking about his Sagan, Dillon's great-great grandfather. All of Lynn's dogs were measured against Sagan. I told Dillon many years ago that "he" was "my" Sagan and I still feel that way today. Dillon was an extraordinary dog in many ways. I have felt honored to have been a part of his life for the past 15 years. I take great comfort in seeing Dillon live on through his offspring. Holly is a great example of this. Roper still has a bit of maturing to do, but actually looks a lot like her grandfather. I can see his eyes whenever I look at her.

Thank you for teaching me so much & making me look good when we participated in the agility trials. I love you Boodle Dog, now & forever.
