When I first learned that Chuck Grambart had a litter of puppies in June of 2008, the wheels inside my head began turning. Besides the fact that all his pups were beautiful tri-colors, the pedigree was what really interested me. Buddy's great grandsire was Russ, who is also my Dillon's sire. Since there aren't too many of the Jarratt line ES out there, this was a perfect opportunity to pull back some of that hard to find NC bloodline into my breeding program. Liberty is co-owned by myself & Vicki McKinnie and she resides with Vicki.
Liberty has been a complete love bug from day one. I did fly up to Minnesota to bring her back to NC. After a very long trip and layovers, we made it back to our house. Brian didn't want to let her go to Vicki's and she almost ended up living here with us. As you can see, she made a big impression on both of us. I have been able to visit with Liberty every few months and it is obvious that she remembers who we are. When I walked into the examining room the day of the PennHIP x-rays, she immediately jumped up to greet me. Vicki says she doesn't do this to anyone else.
We will be watching Liberty as she continues to mature. I am very excited about a match-up between her and Dillon.
January 2010 - Liberty stayed with us for about a week. At that time, she was just coming out of a shed cycle, so she looks shorter haired than normal in her current pictures. She continues to impress us with her calm temperament and loving nature. She has a real "Egyptian" look to her eyes, almost like heavy eyeliner. It's very pretty on her! Liberty stands right at 22" at the shoulder and is around 50 pounds.
September 2012 - It has finally worked out for Liberty to come back to my house to try once again for a breeding with Dillon. Dillon is now 9 years in age, and we were getting concerned that perhaps Liberty would never be bred to him. 😉 I am excited about this possible litter because this will bring back a little bit of the Jarratt bloodlines through Jan Hilborn's Callie, Liberty's great grandmother. Liberty's great great grandfather is Russ, Dillon's sire. Liberty stayed with us for about 2 weeks. Still a very loving girl, and could be found stuck by me the whole time or laying beside my feet. Again, she was just coming out of a shed period with her coat, so she looked almost naked while she was here. However, her coat is extremely soft!
