Lieutenant Junior Grade, served aboard the USS Enterprise & was Spock's protege
Saavik was the first born of the litter and weighed in at 12 ounces. Although she looks black and white right now, I believe she will be a tri-color girl before it is all said and done. If you look at the 3 day old photo at the bottom, you can see she has the tan markings under her tail. This is usually a give away sign for tris or b&t pups. The saying goes that white markings shrink and pups will tan up over the first couple of weeks. Time will tell on this one. Saavik has the widest white blaze in the litter, a thin partial collar on the back of the neck, white markings on all four legs, full white chest & a small tip on the tail.
Update 7-12-2017: It appears to me now that Saavik will remain black & white. I have not seen any further signs of tan showing up & the tan that started out under her tail has faded somewhat.

This week has shown me another side of Saavik. Whereas before I might have to call her to come over where I am, this week has found her by my side many times, watching to see what I was going to do next. As you can see from some of her photos, she is quite a camera ham. She did notice the ducks at Claire's house, but preferred to walkabout with Claire instead. She also tried out several pieces of puppy sized agility equipment over at Autumn Winds. Saavik will be making her home in NC as a companion & possible weekend farm dog.

Saavik is a real go-getter. She is going to be found in the middle of most things that are happening. While I wouldn't necessarily consider her to be the "top dog" in the litter, she sure is running a close second. She can be a super sweet pup wanting attention & also a ring leader in the latest adventure. She was one of the first to go through the short tunnel without a second thought.

Saavik is growing in leaps and bounds, like her siblings. She is always up for exploring new toys and items each day. In general she likes to be held and petted, but wasn't thrilled about the photo session!
